Daniel Åkerblad – Specialist in solenoidlås motor locks at SAFETRON
Daniel Åkerblad works as a sales representative and technical advisor at SAFETRON, with responsibility for Region South. With over 25 years of experience in the security industry and a master's certificate, he has broad expertise in everything from design to installation. Daniel works with SAFETRON's entire product range, but has a particular focus on solenoidlås and motor locks – products he believes make a big difference to both functionality and flexibility in modern door environments.
Solenoidlås motor locks that meet future requirements
Daniel works extensively with solenoidlås, particularly the SL620 and SL630 models, which offer high flexibility and numerous functions. "The SL630 is actually a multi-lock – it can handle almost any type of functional requirement, especially when combined with dørautomatikk. It has become something of a favorite of mine," says Daniel. He believes that the combination of solenoidlås motor locks provides solutions that work in practice, where user-friendliness and reliability are just as important as security.
How Daniel finds the right solution for the customer
For Daniel, every project begins with understanding the functional requirements of the door—how it will be used, by whom, and what indications are needed. He then reviews requirements such as fire safety, accessibility, tilbakerømning protection class. “When you know how the door will function in everyday life, you can choose the lock that best suits that environment. It’s about thinking holistically, not just about the product,” he says.
Common misconceptions - and what actually matters
According to Daniel, many people place far too much emphasis on how much latch pressure a lock can withstand. "It's not really relevant. You never reach those forces in reality. The important thing is that the lock works stably and reliably in its environment."
However, customers often forget how much power consumption affects both operations and finances. "With the right locks, you can save a lot of money in larger projects - lower power consumption means less dimensioning for cabling and battery backup. This is something we at SAFETRON are working hard to optimize."
When SAFETRON solutions make a difference
One example Daniel remembers clearly is a customer with doors that were exposed to a lot of moisture. Several motor locks had been tried and failed, until the customer fitted an IP rated 6600HD motor lock from SAFETRON - rated to IP67. "After that they had no problems at all. It shows the importance of choosing the right product for the environment," he says.
Customer experiences and what sets SAFETRON apart
Customers often highlight SAFETRON's product quality and flexibility. They also appreciate that the range is narrow but well thought out - making everything from design to stocking easier. "What sets us apart is that we really listen to the customer. We always address problems quickly and see feedback as an opportunity to improve. We are never satisfied with our customer care - it can always be better."
Thoughts on the future
Daniel closely follows developments in the industry and believes that the pace of change is rapid. "There's a lot going on, and you have to be on your toes to keep up." He sees a clear trend where el-sluttstykke are el-sluttstykke being replaced by solenoidlås new installations – a development he welcomes.
"If you prepare with pull wires and Karmoverføring when ordering doors, even if you don't need electric locks right away, you'll save both time and money when the need arises."
Daniel's advice for choosing a security solution
“Try to think one step ahead,” says Daniel. “Consider how the door might be used in the future. Might it need dørautomatikk future? If so, it’s wise to choose a lock that can handle that now—for example, the SL630. That’s how you really future-proof.”
