SAFETRON SL630

The most flexible and versatile solenoid lock on the market

SAFETRON SL630 of the second generation is an electromechanical lock adapted for doors with many simultaneous functional requirements.

Like a traditional solenoid lock, SAFETRON SL630 has electronically operated handles function, a selectable split function but with the difference that the latch bolt has been replaced with a unique patented latch bolt that is adapted to work with automatic door openers.

The latch bolt is locked when the trigger bolt is pressed in. When the lock is electrically activated, the door can be opened as the latch bolt moves in conjunction with the direction of the door.

One variant - infinitely flexible

SAFETRON SL630 is delivered in only one version with all functions adjustable. This simplifies projecting process, installation and purchasing, while ensuring that the right materials are procured - even when complex requirements are revised during the project.

Adjustable latch position

Like the SL620, the SAFETRON SL630 features our patented hybrid technology, which allows you to change latch position  modern and classic. This means that the lock can be used with strike plates adapted for both the ASSA connect and ASSA classic module series. In other words, it can be used in both older and newly manufactured door environments.

It is easy to adjust the latch position, just as easy as setting the latchbolt for right- or lefthand doors. Loosen two screws in the forend, which are also anchored in the post and therefore do not run the risk of disappearing, then change the position of the latch. The inner forend-plate is then rotated 180° and the parts can be screwed back in place.

Built-in sensors

The SL630 has several built-in sensors which, together with the access control system, ensure robust and reliable monitoring of the door environment.

  • Door closed & locked

When the door is closed and secure, a signal is sent from the lock, which eliminates false indications in incompletely closed doors.

  • Handle sensor

When exiting mechanically from the inside via dørvrideren , a signal dørvrideren for valid passage.

  • Cylinder

Signal is given when mechanically opened via cylinder.

  • Alarm emergency exit device

Together with emergency fitting 794, which is connected to the lock via a quick connector, it can trigger an alarm when the emergency fitting opens the door. This signal is not affected by cylinder operation.

  • Alarm active re-entry

When actively re-entering, an alarm signal is given that can be used to signal an insecure door. Also used to activate the alarm function in SAFETRON Button.

One door type in building projects

Thanks to the unique and wide range of applications of the SL630, there is no longer any need for electric strike. Since the latch position is modern and therefore the same as for solenoidlocks and motor locks in the 6000 series, doors with the same cut-out and strike plates can be utilized for entire building projects. Choose locks based on functional and security requirements. A side effect is a more stylish door environment when large cutouts for electric strikes can be eliminated.

Self-adjusting latchbolt for automatic door opener

The SL630 has a patented new type of latch bolt that is adapted for automatic door openers. The latch bolt is self-adjusting, which means that it follows the movement of the door but has the same shape and size as a traditional latch bolt.

As before, the latch bolt's locking mechanism can be released electronically via one of the lock's built-in solenoids. This means that the lock can be used in doors equipped with automatic door openers as well as pull-handles mounted on the door.

At the same time, the latch bolt ensures that the door always has the correct fireproofing properties.

Preload technology

SAFETRON SL630 is the first lock case ever to feature listetrykksteknologi means that the lock opens even when pressure is applied to the door. List pressure is a common phenomenon often caused by, for example, excess pressure in the building, warped doors, or snow/gravel getting into dørspalten. SAFETRON SL630 eliminates these problems and prevents unnecessary downtime.

Opens with preload up to 100 kg

The preload technology in the SL630 also has positive side effects in mechanical opening via the door handle. The SL630 can withstand incredibly preload pressures during mechanical opening because the opening force required on the door handle is minimal - regardless of the preload pressure.

High security resistance

The new generation SL630 offers an incredible strength of up to 1000 kg (10 kN) - a proof of the lock's solid construction and careful choice of materials. After testing by the Swedish Research Institute (RISE), the lock has also been awarded the highest level of security resistance for which this type of lock can be tested (Grade 3 according to European standard SS-EN 14846).

emergency exit

The SL630 is certified for use in emergency escape routes according to the standard SS-EN 179:2008. Emergency evacuation can take place in three ways.

Approved emergency evacuation can be achieved using pressure-operated emergency fitting 793. This combination allows normal passage through door handle at the same time as this door handle becomes an approved emergency evacuation route. In this combination, the lock must be set to split function, which always allows mechanical exit from the inside via the door handle.

Go to emergency fitting 793

Cylinder-mounted emergency fittings are normally used when dual card readers are required, both for entry and exit. The cylinder-mounted emergency fitting 794 is normally sealed and should only be used in an emergency. Indication from the handle is possible via its built-in sensor, which is connected to the lock via a quick connector.

Go to emergency fitting 794

Emergency evacuation via an emergency evacuation terminal, known as an emergency button, is possible in conjunction with the SL630. The lock must then be set to power to lock function. The emergency button cuts the power to the lock's handle function, which in power to lock mode mechanically activates the door handle.

Built-in re-entry

Via the smart integrated re-entry logic two methods can be used to obtain re-entry. This always require the lock to be set to power to lock function. The lock has a DIP-switch at the back of the lock that let's you set the re-entry function.

01. Re-entry via cylinder-mounted emergency fitting

When double card readers are required, cylinder-mounted emergency fittings 794 are used. The emergency fitting's built-in micro switch is connected to the lock via a quick connector at the rear edge of the lock. When opening via the emergency device the door handle on both sides becomes mechanically unlocked allowing for a safe re-entry.

Restoration via external source
Reset is performed via a potential-free short-circuit (NO) to the lock via the connection cable. The short-circuit can come from any source, such as an access control system or locally via, for example, the SAFETRON resetButton. SAFETRON ResetButton.

Reset via key
Reset can also be performed using a key to the lock cylinder. However, this cannot be combined with external reset via potential-free short-circuit.

02. Re-entry via pressure-activated emergency fitting (split function)

Combining split function with re-entry now be solved using the built-in re-entry function in SL630. The fire alarm signal is connected to the lock through the connecting cable, which monitors the status of the fire alarm. When the fire alarm is active, re-entry is activated at the next exit.

This ensures that doors are not automatically opened and left unsecured when the fire alarm is active, but only once emergency evacuation via the door handle has taken place. Reset is performed by resetting the fire alarm.

Download the instructions to see a detailed description of these features and how they are connected.

Adjustable handle function

Setting the lock between split right/left has never been easier. The SAFETRON SL630, through its patented function selector, has the ability to change the mode of the handle function between split right/left, between unlocked or locked mode.

The function selector has four fixed positions that you click through using a slotted screwdriver. Clear and intuitive.

Split right, Split

Split right or left means that the inside door handle is mechanically connected and unlocked allowing for safe exit without the need for electronic activation. Right or left is dictated by the door's hinge position.

Locked

'LOCKED' indicates the security mode where both handles are locked and electronically controlled which means that access control is required from both sides, i.e. dual card readers. This is a way to further reinforce security and surveillance.

Unlocked

Unlocked means that both handles are mechanically unlocked. This mode can be used in unlocked fire doors with requirements for automatic door openers or during construction when the locks are not yet in operation. This avoids unnecessary wear and tear that can occur when the lock is opened using tools instead of the intended door handles.

Adjustable power to open / power to lock

Adjusting whether the door handle has power to lock or power to open is just as easy as the adjustable split function via the lower function selector. Turn the function selector in the desired direction with a slotted screwdriver until you hear a clear click. Simple and intuitive, and completely without the need to remove tiny screws.

Power to open

Power to open function means that the door handle activation is locked without power. This provides higher security and is the default setting of the lock

Power to lock

Power to lock function means that the door handle activation is unlocked when power is off. This is used, for example, when fire alarms are to control the locking function or when re-entry is required.
