Preload technology

The SAFETRON SL630 is the first lock case ever to feature preload technology, which means that the lock opens despite if there is preload applied on the door. Preload is a normal phenomenon often caused by, for example, an overpressure in the building, skewed doors or snow/gravel in the door gap. SAFETRON SL630 eliminates these problems and prevents unnecessary downtime.

The preload technology of the SL630 also provides positive side effects in the mechanical function via lever handle. The SL630 can withstand incredibly high preload forces in mechanical opening because the handle force required is minimal.

Certified holding force

SAFETRON SL630 has a certified holding force according to Grade 3 of the European standard SS-EN 14846. Grade 3 is the highest level for which this type of electrical solenoid lock can be tested against which ensures the security in doors where the SL630 is suitable.

One door type in building projects

Thanks to the unique and wide range of applications of the SL630, there is no longer a need for electrical strikes. Since the latch bolt placement is in the center of the lock case and therefore similar to that of the SL620 solenoid lock and the 6500/6600 motor lock, the same door type with the same recess and strike plate can be ordered for entire building projects. Choose the lock case based on functional and security requirements. Another benefit is that this leaves an esthetically pleasing result when large recesses for electric strikes can be eliminated.

Solenoid lock with preload technology for automatic doors

The SAFETRON SL630 is an electromechanical lock with patented preload technology. The lock has a wide and unique range of applications covering functional requirements such as:

  • Fire proof 120 min
  • Automatic doors
  • Emergency exit according to SS-EN 179
  • Accessibility
  • Re-entry
  • Split function
  • Simple function

Never before have so many complex functional requirements been met by a single lock case.

SAFETRON SL630 has just like a traditional solenoid lock one or two electrically operated handles but with the difference that the latch bolt is replaced with a dual function latch bolt which is adapted to work with automatic door openers. This latch bolt is locked when the trigger bolt is activated and when the lock is electrically activated the door can be opened as the latch bolt folds in the direction that the door moves.

Two models

SL630

  • Latch bolt: Fail secure
  • Handle: Fail secure function

SAFETRON SL630 is suitable for door environments where there is a requirement for re-entry and/or electronic emergency exit via an emergency opening terminal. The handle activation has a fail secure function. Fire rated 120min.

SL630 Secure

  • Latch bolt: Fail secure
  • Handle: fail secure

The SAFETRON SL630 SECURE is designed for use in door environments where a fail secure function of the handle is desired, suitable where a power failure should not cause an unlocked door and where there is no requirement for re-entry. Fire rated 120min.

Automatic door openers and handle function

SAFETRON SL630 can advantageously be used in combination with automatic door opener but at the same time be equipped with electronically activated pushers. The lock is equipped with dual solenoids, one of which controls the unlocking of the dual function case and the other the activation of the push function. This means that the connection can be made separately to automatic door opener and access control systems, while the project can be kept uniform when all doors can be fitted with push buttons.

Emergency exit according to SS-EN 179

SAFETRON SL630 is certified and CE marked together with SAFETRON emergency escape accessories 793 and 794 for use in emergency escape routes according to the European standard EN 179:2008. Choose between emergency hardware 793 placed on the push position when the lock is set in split function or emergency hardware 794 placed on the cylinder position when the door is either equipped with a pull handle or when the lock is set in single function when electronic activation is required for both entry and exit.

Re-entry

The SAFETRON SL630 meets the requirements for both emergency exit and re-entry. The handle function of the lock is fail safe, thereby activating re-entry by cutting the power to the lock. The power can be cut through an activated fire alarm or through an activated emergency exit device 794 in combination with the relay card SAFETRON REC (Re-entry card).

Patented function selector

Turning between split right/left has never been easier. The SAFETRON SL630, through its patented function selector, has the ability to change the mode of the handle function between split right/left, between unlocked or locked mode.

The function selector has four distinct positions that are clicked through with a screwdriver.

Split

Split right or left means that the inside handle is always mechanically engaged, allowing exit without the need for electronic activation. Right or left is dictated by the hanging of the door.

Construction mode

Unlocked or "construction mode" as we call it is a mode where both handles are mechanically engaged. This mode is advantageously used during construction time when the locks are not operational. This avoids unnecessary wear and tear that can occur when the lock is opened using tools instead.

Locked

'LOCKED' indicates the security mode (otherwise known as single function) where both handles are locked and electronically controlled meaning that access control is required from both sides. This is a way to further enhance security and surveillance.
